Otium Earbuds Quit My Kindle

I have been using these for a couple of years - no problem. I use it on my Win11 pc for audio -- work well. Yesterday, my Kindle 8 could not seem to locate them to pair. A msg came up stating I should reset all "network settings including wi-fi and Bluetooth." First, why would that all of a sudden need to be done and second, what changed? Isn't that a big process to reset those "things" ..Thanks for any help.
