I made an appointment and cant delete it. This is syncing with iCloud calendar and this one appointment appears in Oultook 2024 but not on iCalendar. I've tried everything and Googled it but nothing seems to work. I only have one calendar so I cant move it and delete it. Any thoughts ?

As I read it, you had a similar problem with Outlook 2021. Did you ever solve that one?
Outlook 2021 - cant delete a meeting /cancel a meeting

When you say "cant delete" do you mean:

You delete it and it comes back?
There is an error message, or no action at all, when you try and delete it in Outlook?
What happens if you Cancel instead of Delete?

When I right click and click on delete nothing happens. No error message or any action at all. There is no Cancel option. The only way I escaped the same issue in 2021 was to do a fresh install on a new PC. In fact in this version when I go to select a timethe default starts at 8AM and I cant input anything else and have it retain it yet if I make the appt in iCalendar it alll works perfectly.

Do I understand correctly - This is not just about a single event that can't be deleted in Outlook, but that your whole Calendar in Outlook is effectively Read-Only? And the only way to create a new event is to use iCloud and wait for it to sync to Outlook?

Sorry if I wasnt clear. It is about one single event only I created the event in Outlook and it synced to iCloud correctly. I deleted the entry in iCloud and it remained in Outlook. I cannot get rid of it in Outlook. It is the one event that is read only.

If I create an event in iCloud I can delete that event in Outlook.

Does the "iCloud2: Can't edit meetings" section of this post look similar to your problem?
iCloud and Outlook Problems: Syncing Calendar | Slipstick Systems

I didn't see anything else in the other iCloud issue articles or comments that looked like a hit. But you might also want to scan the other iCloud issue articles and the comments for anything I missed.

Hi @idainc

Have you tried either of these?

  • Try Safe Mode: Launch Outlook in safe mode by pressing Win + R, typing outlook /safe, and hitting Enter. Then try deleting the entry again.
  • Move the Event: Open the event in its own window, go to File > Move to Folder, and move it to another calendar. Once moved, try deleting it from the new location.
