Outlook / publisher 2021 - near expiration date

I'm thinking of doing that anyway. I bought a cheap license for Office 2021 from gHacks back in 2022 to replace LibreOffice and Thunderbird but now I'm asking myself why. Dealing with licenses is a PITA.

Why would want to do anything right now if you have Office 2021? The only thing that is happening is that it will stop getting security updates. I have Office 2010 Pro, Office 2019 Pro Plus and Office 2021 Pro. I will keep using them for many years to come.

A couple years ago I installed Office 2003 Pro on an old computer with Windows 7. It installed OK and received a number of updates. Mainstream support ended in 2009. That only meant there were no security updates after that.

I doubt if Outlook will disapper - it's still in Office 2024 LTSC -- too many people still use it. Publisher has been superceeded for years by other far more appropriate things and wasn't hugely used although quite good i n its day -- really only needed for legacy stuff

Publisher 365 stopped working entirely on 1 October 2026 Ends today.

Publisher in Microsoft Office 2021 ends support on 13 October 2026 11 days from today but will continue to work after that date.

Publisher in earlier versions of Microsoft Office (2019, 2016 etc) are already out of support but still work.

Odd my Publisher in Office 365 is still working, but I am in New Zealand, maybe it stops when its 1st October in the USA, I will have to check again tomorrow.

So, will the program remain on my PC but not work, or will an update remove it from the computer?
