Adobe is best, a good free alternative for online editing is Sedja, mind you, I only use it once

Right now I'm using FoxIt reader.. it's ok for my needs.

The main problem with Adobe is that it spreads itself all over your computer and your registry, adding a lot of bulk in the process.

One of the best choices is PDF-XChange Editor. Comes in both installer and portable versions, and the free version offers more options than I would ever need, but the Premium version isn't very expensive. See BunnyJ's link above for Best 5 PDF for 2021.

For basic PDF reading -- use Edge or Firefox. PDF reading is built in -- also if you use the Ms print to pdf facility web pages etc can be "printed" to pdf files and accessed by Firefox / Edge. No need for extra software if you just want basic pdf reading.

True that. But there are some useful tools included in the free version. Like distance measuring which is pretty handy tool

Could be that you downloaded it from Adobe site.

I'm using MS Store, or PatchMyPC to get it. Only free, and clean stuff there

@nightowl17 what editor functionality do you need? Don't think that any other editor can get near Adobe Acrobat. But it's pricey, very. PDF-Xchange can do some stuff, and LibreOffice can do some pdf editing. imited in my opinion, and not worth a time..

Other thing is document's page rearranging. You have a lot more options there. Or only adding headers and footers etc.
