Permanent ads in inbox

I keep getting an ad at the top of my inbox. The only way to get rid of it is to deleted it. Can't mark it as read. Can only delete it. Every time I go into Outlook I get the same ad.

That's the version of Edge/Chrome you are using so am guessing you are using Outlook on the web. Do you have an Office 365 subscription? if not then you'll see ads, if you do then you won't.

You get ads on the free version of Outlook. If you don't want them, then you can sign up to the Premium version, which obviously costs. I use Adblock Plus, and with this Edge extension the add appears only for a couple of seconds.

I started noticing these ads a couple of months ago. You only get one and if you don't open it then it just changes to something else the next day. Just ignore them.

Curiously these ads do not show when using the email app but they always do when viewing Outlook in a browser.
