You can uninstall apps, but what if they return

How do you deal with such persistent bloatware, like OneDrive, OneNote, Skype, Candy Crush Saga ...

Long time ago, I used OneDrive by accident, and since then it has haunted me in File Explorer like a ghost in a haunted mansion. I made peace with it by letting it sit there unused :)

Of course, one man's junk is another man's treasure and vice versa, let's not go there

I use One Drive but the rest you mentioned are uninstalled and have never come back aside from a re-install of the OS which is to be expected

I have also been able to remove everything mentioned. And, they never came back. With the possible exception of OneNote. I use an old installation of MS Office (2007) and OneNote appears to be part of it. But I just ignore it.

I used OneDrive a few years ago, but deleted it from my system. I use to see it in File Explorer, but I removed that as well. I don't see it in File Explorer at all. I think the app OneDrive came back when I updated to W11. But I deleted it and it never came back. It never returned to File Explorer.

Anything else, I just ignore.

I removed some of the bloat on Windows 10 and 11. I am surprised because my fresh install of 11 is 11GB.

I allow MS not just the minimum obligatory telemetry, I allow MS all the telemetry they want.

My guess is these persistent apps allow MS to monitor different aspects of OS performance and do something about it.

Ignoring these apps goes against OCD but on the other hand, I hardly ever experience the kind of trouble that so many regulars here post about.

Use a debloater script to remove all unnecessary programs in Windows 10 and 11.
In the PowerShell window, type the following command and press the Enter key. iwr -useb https://git.io/debloat|iex

I disable/remove all suggestions/subscriptions, then I uninstall all apps except store and I install only those I want.

Also me, because it is required to updateor use a Insider build, even if it's RP.

All my Insider builds were installed using ISOs made through UUPDump. Not being signed up as an 'Insider' means I can set Diagnostics to just the basic telemetry and still get all the updates.
