Hi there,
By chance I spoke with a friend at the time I was messaging here yesterday, on a completely separate topic but mentioned about my woes with the laptop. He put me on too someone local who took the machine in and has fitted a new SSD drive as an upgrade but also a solution to the problem. I am collecting later but apparently it is back to how it should be now.
