phone-link groups not syncing

have an android (Samsung) cell phone, and use messaging on it (SMS). Long ago I had switched from thr Samsung messaging app to Google messages, and all was well.
However, recently I have gotten into a synchronization issue.
I had sent some messages to two people (p1,p2), and then later created a group name for that (G1). A member of the group renamed the group to G2, and I now then get messages from that, which show up properly on the phone, but not on the PC.
.
On windows Phone-Link on my PC I now see two threads, (p1,p2), (p2,p1), and I get posts to the newer renamed version of G2 into ((p1,p2). If I reply to that thread (on PC), the reply instantly moves into the other group (p2,p1), and I never see the current and desired actual new group name G2 on the PC. Others on the group thread and on my phone see the new (correct) G2 thread with all of the messages, including those that I am seeing split between the two previous old groups.

I have unlinked and relinked the phone from PLink several times, no change. I deleted the cache files for PL on the PC, no change. I changed the messaging on the phone back to Samsung, then did the relink, no change. (So, I came back to Google messages).

So, somehow the PLink in Windows is not updating group and thread names to correctly sync with the phone.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Several iteration's with Claude-AI said it was a common issue-, but gave no working (and several misguided) suggestions.
