OS
Windows 11
I quite like Phone Link in Windows 11 and have been awaiting its appearance in my Start Menu instead of a
pop-up window. I have checked that it was supposed to appear as part of Windows 11 Build 2600.3915 KB5055627
which was successfully installed on my PC on 27th April 2025.
I have tried used CoPilot to get information of how to uninstall and re-install both Phone Link (PC) and Link to Windows (Android Phone).
This was necessary because Phone Link isn't an app (even though it used to be downloadable from MIcrosoft Store), so I had to use GetAppXpackage.
Having done this several times with no effect, I'm wondering whether I should use Vivetool. - I have full details of the command.
I was sunder the impression that Vivetool was only to be used in the Windows Insider environments.
What do you think?

Hi, Thanks for your replies. In its current state, Phone Link 1.25042.85.0 is working, and appears in the list of 'All' in the Start menu. I suppose I could pin it to the taskbar, but have not tried it. I want it to appear as an extension to the RHS of the Start Menu. I have seen the instructions in this forum of how to use vivetool, but I have NOT tried it because I thought that it was only to be used on an Insider Build machine. Having said that, I am a bit confused by the forum advice relating to it, because it says use vivetool /enable /id:48697323,48433719 . Then it says use vivetool /enable /id:55495322 and then use it with 49381526 and 49820095. I have also read that these feature id numbers can change after Windows Updates. So, which of the above five id numbers should I use, and it what order, and could they lead to an unstable Phone Link/Start menu?

It is indeed gradually rolling out to the public builds since 26100.3915 (24H2).

You can use the appropriate vivetool command if wanted.

Thank you Brink. I have installed Vivetool and have taken a look at its subcommands. I have also used Copilot to tell me what the various feature id numbers actually enable in plain English.
I think that I will be a more patient in order to see whether the various facilities that these numbers refer to, actually appear.
