Assuming Win 11 is activated, and you can do other "personalizations"...
...enabling Pin to Taskbar on your right click context menu, should help.
Sometimes a Windows update will remove the option, but you can re-enable it.

I was hit by this issue recently.
I used to be able to drag xls files to the Excel entry on the taskbar, but now I cannot.
In addition I can no longer drag and drop folders onto the Taskbar.
I have tried the methods suggested in the Tutorials mentioned in this thread, but to no avail.
Could the fact that I'm running StartAllBack and Open Shell be a factor here?
