I'm currently running Windows 7 Pro but will be getting a Windows 11 Pro desktop computer soon.

The thing that I love about the Windows 7 start menu is that when you point to a program, it shows pinned and recent documents associated with that program. Here is an example, with the actual .txt file names blurred out:

Is it possible to get a similar menu -- with pinned and recent documents associated with a particular program -- on Windows 11? I use this feature all the time in Windows 7.

Unfortunately not. The best you will get in Windows 11 is a Recommended section in the Start Menu:

and, maybe Taskbar Jump Lists:

You would need the aid of a 3rd party Start menu to achieve something as refined as a Windows 7 Menu:

Edwin, thank you for your help! May I please ask which third-party start menu software you are using in the last screenshot? Do you recommend that software? Is it stable, reliable, and compatible with the other apps you use (e.g., Word, Chrome, and SumatraPDF)?

The software is StartAllBack.
I'm running it on all my Windows 11 Builds. It's fairly stable all around. Glitches pop up from time to time on Insider Builds. The Developer is pretty good about keeping on top of things.
