Phone Play Sound on Mobile Device from Phone Link app on Windows 11 PC

This tutorial will show you how to play a sound on your Android mobile device from the Phone Link app on your Windows 11 PC.

With the Phone Link app on your PC linked to your Android phone, you can instantly access the Android apps installed on your mobile device right on your Windows 11 PC. Using a Wi-Fi connection, Apps allows you to browse, play, order, chat, and more — all while using your PC’s larger screen and keyboard.

The Phone Link app on your Windows 11 PC can play a sound on your linked Android phone for 20 seconds to help find the mobile device.

Option One

Play Sound on Mobile Device in Phone Link app


1 Open the Phone Link app on your Windows 11 PC.

2 Click/tap on the Play sound button at the top of the left pane. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on Play sound to confirm. (see screenshot below)

4 The sound will automatically stop playing on your linked mobile device after 20 seconds. You can also manually Stop playing the sound on the mobile device from the "Link to Windows" notification. (see screenshot below)

5 Click/tap on Got it, and hopefully find your phone. (see screenshot below)

Option Two

Play Sound on Mobile Device in Settings


1 Open Settings (Win+I) on your Windows 11 PC.

2 Click/tap on Bluetooth & devices on the left side, and click/tap on Mobile devices on the right side. (see screenshot below)

3 Under Mobile devices, click/tap on an added phone (ex: "Brink S23+") you want to manage. (see screenshot below)

Mobile devices you added will not be listed if Allow this PC to access content and capabilities from your mobile devices is turned off.

4 Under Controls, click/tap on the Ring now button to Play Sound. (see screenshot below)

5 You can click/tap on the Stop playing sound button when you found your phone. (see screenshot below)

6 You can now close Settings if you like.

If you want to do the opposite, that is use Windows speakers to play music from your Android phone, you have to install Bluetooth Audio Receiver from Windows Store. Then pair your phone with your PC, load the app and select to start playing. Any sound your Android makes is played through the PC speakers.

The Android phone would have to be linked to the Phone Link on your PC first, so they will not be able to unless linked.

Just a question, why would we like to play a sound? To find a misplaced phone? We could just call it from the landline or other phone.
