Playback device: can I have two as a default?

Hello.
I know the post thread title seems illogical, but please help me.
All I want to know is whether I can have two playback devices being set as default, so I can listen through my speakers sometimes and through my monitor at other times - without having to manually set the default through the sound app. each time.

I have two set as defaults.

My speakers are default for my monitor, and when I play movies (from my HDD on my TV, the TV's speaker handle that sound. I can do both at the same time. I don't know if this helps?


Any sound source from the monitor (like Youtube or Foobar 2000), comes through my speakers, and any sound source on the TV comes through the TV.


But that's with two screens (monitor and TV).

I believe that the OP wants to use each separately and not at the same time.

I understand. I can do them separately as well.
But... if needed I can do both at the same time.

I think I'm cheating though.
When I play an HDD movie on the TV, the TV is the "auto" default for the movie sound.
In my sound settings, I have the Klipsch speakers set as default.

I don't really have two sound devices set as default.
The TV speakers are the automatic default for any sound source on the TV.

I blame higher priority work. I was BBQing a 1.54 pound Ribeye steak.
Now I feel like a lion in the Serengeti, after taking down a gazelle. :D
