Possible to do System Recover via Remote Desktop

I am connected to another PC via Remote Desktop. Will I be able to do a System Recovery this way without losing my connection, at least not without becoming unable to reconnect?

What about doing a Windows reinstall from a mounted ISO via Remote Desktop?

Either way, you will drop the connection as some portions of a restore and a re-install need to be 'outside' the OS to take place, whatever the source. Reconnecting afterwards shouldn't be an issue.
Please note the IP -so that you can ping the machine- as it will be impossible to know for sure how long the remote system will be down.
Usually about 3 minutes after the first ping answer is received can you access the remote system via RDP.

I think you will discover that you will have to login into the machine locally and re-enable remote desktop before you can get back into it.

I would assume that you could initiate your reinstall with that device attached and have access to the system through the entire reinstallation as if you were there in front of the system.

BTW, I have not yet ordered one of these for myself yet, but I know that resistance is futile. I will have no choice but to give in sooner or later.

Yes, that remote HDMI device would work, it uses only the HDMI signal from the computer and a USB port, no OS drivers are needed.

I did not, in fact, have to do that. This wasn’t a clean install. It was as described in my post to another thread.
