Problem cloning or backupping system to secondary drive

Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4169) Desktop (OS Build 22621.4317)
I have Windows 11 Pro running on a Samasung 970 NvME C: drive and cannot find a way to either clone or backup the system or drive to a secondary spinner - D: drive in the machine. Have tried all ways via AOMEI Partition Assistant but it just does not transfer the backup or clone to the D: drive.
Any thoughts really appreciated

Have now got it done using different software - Macrium Reflect.

The AOMEI option for that is AOMEI Backupper. Works well (even freeware version)

(I sometimes put my tin-foil hat on and use both AOMEI Backupper AND Macrium to create images. Insurance.)

Yes Idgat mate I tried that and the AOMEI Partition Asssistant but could not get either to do a clone or backup of any sort. That is when I esorted to Macrium and it worked - not like my past experiences with that particular software. Anyway AOMEI does backup using an external drive but just not the spare storage drive in the machine??

Pointless even looking at Partition Assistant for this type of operation - that's not its function. Needn't even be mentioned in this conversation.

AOMEI Backupper (freeware) can back up whole system, individual disk, a partition and/or files/folders. And the user can re-direct the backup file to any location (internal and/or external) as required.

Yes Idgat mate I tried that first of all but it would not backup from my C: drive to my D: internal drive so that is why I tried Macrium again. The AOMEI backs up to an external drive with no problem.
