Problem with update and reinstall Win warning

Got a problem with a new Win 11 computer.I have noticed there is an update which just will not install (KB 5043076) Also there is a warning notice on update page "! Reinstall your current version of Windows to repair system files and components" so I suppose that would suggest that is a problem with Windows, although seems to work reasonably well. Rather surprised to get a reinstall Win warning, with such a fairly new computer which has hardly been used. Really I want to avoid reinstalling Windows, I have some very large programs like Flight Simulator, which would take ages to download again with a fairly slow internet connection. Any advice be welcome.

I've never seen that generated on Windows update but MS changes stuff regularly. The only thing I can suggest it to see if you have corruption that can be fixed and /or trying a repair install.

.Open a command prompt as administrator and type
sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair.
followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer

Note: Any iso of release windows you get now will be 23h2. 24H2 will be released as an iso in about 2 weeks. You may want to wait until then to do the repair install. But in all honesty depending on what you have going on with your system, it may come down to having to go nuclear with a clean install, but I would surely try the other stuff first.
