Solved Problem with windows 11 update 22H2

Hi everyone, I have been having problems with the recognition of my external hard drives and to solve it I imagine that I would go through the system update. They are drives that are missing, however, after requesting software such as Dell support to try to scan and download them, the lack of them was not detected. What was detected is the lack of the Windows 11 22H2 software update. There are already more recent updates such as 22H4. Trying to install the 22H2 update does not go beyond 8% and ends the installation. Trying to repair Windows 11, it sends me the error 0xc1900201. It seems to have to do with the drive's partition size. My laptop has a 1 Terabyte C: drive just for software with more than 600 GB free and a 2 Terabyte D: drive with more than 1.2 Terabytes free. My question is whether I will have to format the laptop to solve these problems or is there an alternative other than formatting?

It looks like you have to do an in-place upgrade repair. This is when you upgrade to the same or higher version of Windows to repair system files. Since you are doing it, I would upgrade to a higher version, If we are talking about the computer in your specs, it is Windows 11 compliant, I suggest to download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant and run it to upgrade to 24H2, Alternatively, you can download the ISO directly (third option, scroll down), mount it (aka Open with File Explorer) and run Setup to upgrade. The Assistant might be a safer option to automatically install any updates necessary.

A clean installation might be better, but it will take too much time if you have many GB of data to backup and many applications to reinstall. Last time I did it was to install Windows 11 since I could not upgrade from Windows 10 (didn't know all the hacks back then). It took me almost a week in my limited free time to reinstall everything and still wasn't feeling the same as my previous OS. It takes more than a couple of months to get used to the new installation and "feel at home" and not like using somebody's else computer, if you know what I mean.
