OS
Windows 11 Pro - version 24H2
I’m trying to install CachyOS on my second 1Tb SSD. I downloaded the CachyOS ISO and then used Rufus to create a bootable USB (64GB) with the ISO. Everything went fine up until that point.

When I restarted the computer to the USB, I was greeted with the following menus:
Welcome to CachyOS 260124 Live ISO (UEFI)!
-------------------------------
* CachyOS
CachyOS LTS Kernal
CachyOS Legacy Hardware (GPU nomodeset)
Run Memtest86+ (RAM test)
UEFI Shell
UEFI Firmware Settings
System shutdown
System restart

With “*CachyOS” selected, I press ENTER. The screen goes blank for 2 seconds and then goes right back to that menu. I can’t get beyond that point.

CachyOS is based on Arch which is well above my level of expertise
if you want to try Linux it maybe worthwhile looking at Ubuntu or Zorin.

not much help, sorry
best of luck Steve ..

Did you try it with Secure Boot off? Looping back to the boot menu is often caused by Secure Boot or EFI issues. Secure Boot is the easiest to check.

I don’t know what that it, but I’ll google it and how to turn it off. Thanks.

Any suggestions on setting it up?
Not really. I use Linux for development and running VMs, that’s about it.

Most of my Linux setup is just noticing things that bug me or I just wished were a little different, and fixing those things, which Linux is pretty good about letting you do. Just make notes about things you’d like to change, once you get used to it, and then look into those things. It’s going to be different for everyone.
