I'm getting a new Alienware AW3425DW OLED. Pairing it with my RTX 3080. So, it supports HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4. now, would I be better off connecting the monitor by the HDMI 2.1 or still DP 1.4? Thanks

HDMI 2.1 offers a higher data rate (48Gbps) than DP 1.4 (32.4 Gbps), but either would need to use DSC (lossy compression) at high resolutions/refresh rates.

Whether the difference between HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 would be noticeable, I don't know. I doubt it.

Historically, the computer has been connected through the DP.
The main thing is to make sure that Nvidia Control Center is set to 10-bit color depth.
Although it may be a problem only with 8 bit + FRC monitors, you need to set it manually.
Use the cable that came with the monitor, this cable will be certified, probably.
