RealTimeSync

Hello. I'm having trouble with learning how to operate RealTimeSync. I've watched the videos and I read the instructions from their site, but I guess I don't understand the lingo. Lingo such as "batch job" and "command lines," etc. Therefore, could someone give me a straightforward and rudimentary explanation as to how to use the program?

A batch.

You might create multiple backups in FreeFileSync, that can be saved as a batch job:

That batch file then can be imported to RealTimeSync:

File > Open > Navigate to where you saved the batch or single FreeFileSync Job and add it to RealTimeSync:

Save the RealTimeSync job:

File > Open > Save As

Copy and paste the RealTimeSync job into the Windows Startup folder so it opens when Windows starts.

When Windows Starts, RealTimeSync will load into the system tray and whenever you add or move or delete a file in a folder that you created a FreeFileSync job for, it will see the change and reflect the change to the backup job in "Real Time" or when you set it to do so in the settings.

Or you could create a task instead, but the Startup Folder is the easiest.

You can NOT move any of the created FreeFileSync job or batch jobs after creation or nothing will work. So pick a good location to save the files.

I should add, you don't have to set it to load with Windows, you can just double click on the RealTimeSync job after Windows starts and it will load to the System Tray and monitor in real time.

Thank you, antspants. Also, the only backup that I would like to save as a batch job is the recent Music folder that I mirrored over to my Seagate portable external hard drive. Therefore, this is what I get when trying to Save as Batch, but I'm not sure what to do next:

Hi mate.

With that popup: You can make it run minimized so you never see the process. Therefore you would tick Run Minimised and also Auto-Close
You can also tick Ignore Errors if you like but I wouldn't personally do that.

Tick those then import it into RealTimeSync and name it, save it to a safe place.
Add (Copy) the RealTimeSync Job to the Startup folder.
If you're not going to add it to the Startup folder, then you don't need to create a RealTimeSync job (it's only one backup job)
Just double click on the FreeFileSync job to run it.

So your options are:

Create a RealTimeSync Job with the the FreeFileSync Job then and add (Copy) the RealTimeSync job to the Startup Folder (Automatic Backup)
Create the FreeFileSync Job and run it manually. (Manual Backup)

How did you go with setting up the FreeFileSync Job? With the settings e.x. Mirror, Two Way, Multiple file processing (Parallel)?

Sorry to ask, but how do I import it into RealTimeSync?

I did the Folder Comparison (Music folder) and Synchronization (Seagate external hard drive).
