Solved Red partition showing in Macrium

Hi there

I've been using Macrium for years now (free version) and it has served me very well without a hiccup, it's been so boringly reliable, that in fact i pay very little attention to it. However, i went to do a backup today and noticed one of my partitions was showing in red. I can only assume it's nearly full, but i have never seen it before, i'm also assuming it's managed by windows.

Is it going to be a problem, if so, what should i do about it? (pic below)

All it means is that that partition (the windows recovery partition) is within 10% of its maxium size.

You do not need to do anything as it will not affect performance in anyway.

At some point in the future an upgrade may need more space than you have in that partition. Windows will shrink the C drive slightly and create a new one. You can then delete the old partition if you desire.

You can go though hoops and loops extending the existing partition and shrinking C drive to make space but hardly worth the effort when Windows does it for you.

If you want to... just use a program like Minitool Partition Wizard (free), and right click the C:\ partition and choose: Resize.
Then shrink the C:\ partition by 1GB.
The computer will need to reboot to do that.

After the reboot, just run Minitool again and right click the Recovery partition and choose: Resize.
The increase the Recovery partition by 1GB. That's it.
Takes about 5-6 minutes.

Sure thing, but always easier said than done - sure it only takes a few minutes if you have used the tool but first time out, it is not so obvious.
It is very easy to "overshoot" or not realise you have to apply the changes etc.

Actually this would make a good tutorial (how about it @Brink), as we often have to explain how to do this to lesser experienced persons.

Thanks to you both, I suspected it was really not an issue. I think I will just leave as Windows will sort it anyway.
