Hidden recovery partition showing in 'This PC' after reinstalling IRST drivers

@james_uk,

Could you clarify for me what your goal is at this point? Did you want to add that 372GB of unallocated space to the 1489 GB partition by expanding that partition to use the additional 372 GB of space?

No, I can do that by turning over provisioning off, from the above comments I thought I had broken the msr and also lost the function of my recovery partitions, so I thought I was hoping to get that fixed?

Okay. Got it. Could you run a few commands for me and post the results here? I just want to get my bearings, but we should really be able to fix this. Be patient with us! We will get this resolved.

First, open a command prompt as administrator.

Run the command below and grab the output so that you can post it here:

reagent /info

Next, run this:

diskpart

Wait for diskpart to start and then run these commands:

select disk 0
list partition

Note the partition number for the last partition (the 775 MB partition). I am guessing that will be number 5 and that is what I show in my commands below. Replace the "5" with the correct number for that 775 MB partition if it is not number 5.

select partition 5
detail partition

Once again, grab that output and post it here.

Finally run "exit" to get out of diskpart, then "exit" again to close the command prompt.

Sure, thank you very much, I appreciate the help.

When i say broke anything, I don't actually know if I have or not lol I am just going from what people have said about the above logs.

Below are the ones you have asked for, i assumed you meant reagentc and not reagent? I have done reagentc in the below. Reagent on its own kept giving an error.

Also, there were only 4 partitions listed, so in this case I picked 4.

Give this a shot. Open a command prompt as administrator and then run the commands below in order. My hope is that the "reagentc /info" will indicate that we fixed it.

If you could again post the output I would appreciate it.

BTW, from the commands you ran before I can see that everything needed for your recovery partition seems to be in place. A recovery partition must be marked as a type "de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac" and the attributes need to be set to "0XC000000000000001". Both of those conditions have been met.

Important: I am temporarily assigning the drive letter W: to the recovery partition, and then later removing that drive letter. If W: is in use on your system, use any other drive letter that is not in use.

diskpart
sel disk 0
sel par 4
assign letter=W
exit

reagentc /setreimage /path W:\
reagentc /info

diskpart
sel disk 0
sel par 4
remove
exit

Hey, I have given that a go.

I keep getting an error at REAGENTC /SETREIMAGE /PATH W:\ as shown below.

C:\Windows\System32>reagentc /setreimage /path W:\
REAGENTC.EXE: Operation failed: 3

The letter is definitely assigned as i can see it in 'this pc' now

I need to research this a little bit more. There is always a solution for issues like this, may just need a little testing and research.

I'm going out for a while, but I'll look into this further when I return.
