Would anyone be able to confirm that this tutorial ("Change Hover Time to Show Taskbar Thumbnail Previews in Windows 11") works in 23H2 and/or 24H2?

One of the users implied that the registry tweak -- which relies on modifying ExtendedUIHoverTime in the registry or adding ExtendedUIHoverTime to the registry -- isn't compatible with Start11 or Office 2021 (both of which I also use). I'd like to try this registry tweak, but I don't want to mess up my computer.

I'm running Windows 11 Enterprise, 23H2, 22631.3527.

It’s a simple registry tweak, surely you can undo what you have followed in the tutorial, if it’s not working the way you want it to.

I'm certain it worked a year ago and I'm certain the regedit worked up until this past patch tuesday update. After that update - the Tweak No Longer Works at all!

I'm here looking for a cure for this.
Not long ago, i updated to 24H2 and found that MS fixed us good there. With that build, the hover delay tweak had been blown up. I no longer worked. It was one of many reasons i went back to 23H2 - where the tweak was still in place.
Now, after our wonderful latest windows update, it is just as it is in 24H2........Non-Functional!
Those enormous preview panes in my browser tabs however...whatever I did there to stop the preview panes, seems to still function - so why enforce them on us in the taskbar?
This is irking me so badly that I'm doing all I can to not even use the fing taskbar!

Someone here or somewhere can surely find us a remedy for this and for other needless windows 11 features, yeah??? TIA

Hey Edwin;

My windows is the Home edition and your 'yes it works' reply was to a user who has the Enterprise edition - so are you saying yes, the tweak still works today but only for Enterprise edition owners? I ask bc with my Home edition, the regedit got neutered after last Tuesday.

IOW, if you believe it should be working on my windows Home, what do i do to make it work again? Delete that DWORD or maybe the entire registry key and start over or what bc user 'antspants' has me considering installing some 3rd party tweaker - and i'd be in unknown territory there.
Thanks buddy

PS
I just deleted that DWORD and backed up the registry. When i have time i'll add it back in, restart explorer and see what happens. thanks again

Nope! I don't have a clue about Enterprise.
All I'm saying is that the tweak works for me on 23H2 Pro, 24H2 Pro and 24H2 Home..., with or without SAB enabled.

Even with 24H2!? That is something people need to hear. I'll look in to buying a product key and upgrade my Home edition - having access to the Group Policy Editor would be nice too.
Thank you for the info bro
