Reinstall but now slow boot, login, program load and SSD runs nearly all the time

I recently replaced the ssd with a larger capacity in my Dell desktop. Initially, I cloned the old drive to the new one but it would not boot so I formatted the new drive and downloaded the official Windows media creation boot onto a USB. The install seems to have been successful but I have all of the problems in the title i.e. slow boot, login, program load and the new SSD runs nearly all the time.

I'm not certain but I think the problem is caused by a conflict and/or corruption of the boot loader.

I have investigated the BIOS and there are two Windows Boot Manager entries, a UEFI entry for an additional HDD, Onboard NIC (IPV4), Onboard NIC (IPV6) and UEFI HTTPs Boot (MAC:C025A583E8CB. There are no entries for USB or SSD but the machine does boot, slowly, and I have been able to install one program so the SSD is working.

Before I re-installed Windows from the USB I changed the boot order so that the USB was first but as I understand it, with Windows 11 the Windows Boot Manager takes precedence so are there entries in there that are overriding the SSD or does Windows Boot Manager run some processes and 'call' for additional information from the other Boot devices in the order they are listed?

Can I delete one or both of the Windows Boot Manager entries and will Windows create another 'clean' version? I ask because although I did a reinstall the desktop looks the same as it did before the re-install not fairly blank, as I would have expected?

Is the ssd being reported as UEFI HTTPs in the Boot devices or is there a way to add it to the UEFI Boot Manager?

I read somewhere that removing the battery from the CMOS would delete all entries in the BIOS; if that is so would Windows create a 'clean' Windows Boot Manager version?

Any help would be appreciated

I read somewhere that removing the battery from the CMOS

Removing the CMOS battery and then putting it back in, will reset the BIOS to defaults.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?

How can I get the SSD added to the UEFI entries in the Windows Boot Manager?

Download EasyBCD. It's very easy to use and it can add, edit and delete boot manager entries. Post a screen shot like mine. Choose the free version.

Thanks. I've installed EasyBCD and it shows only one entry for the Bootloader Path so I guess the boot loader is not the problem. Any idea why the SSD does not appear in the UEFI devices and how do I add it?
