I apologize if this is not the correct thread to post on. I was just wondering #1. How to Reinstall Windows 11...and if I can do it without
losing my Document Folders. Thanks!!

You *should* not lose anything at all, everything will be exactly how it was. (besides windows being repaired) However, it is always important to have a backup of your data. You can export your browser data bookmarks & passwords in your browser settings. Then you can upload it to google drive or onedrive or anything with a free cloud storage. Let me know if you need help with this.


I also suggest using option 2 from the tutorial.


Also if you tell us what the problem is, maybe we can help. What makes you think you need to reinstall/repair windows?

Is it the case if you use option 2 (ISO/MCT) from the MS download page it will be 24H2? If you want to remain on 23H2 is the Fix Problems Using Windows Update option the only one now available? I for one haven't been offered 24H2 and am in no rush to Update. Thanks.

I'd make sure you back up everything first anyway, whichever option you use. Just copy the contents of all your folders, desktop etc onto an external hard drive. I also screenshot my programs list so I can remember what needs reinstalling afterwards. Your passwords - it depends how you store them. I use a firefox account so they're not actually stored on the computer but saved in firefox itself - then when reinstalling firefox all your passwords and logins are there. The other thing to make a note of is any activation for codes for software (although mostly these are sent by email now so should be in your email.

If it was me I'd reset without saving anything - like a clean install - then reinstall from your backups.

Thanks! I actually have passwords saved in Google, I should have thought of that. I have alot on my external hard drive as well. I haven't done the Reinstall yet, but just doing the reset without saving anything (although a pain) is what I think I will do. Again thanks for your input!
