Remove Numbers from Volume?

I have this minor OCD thing where it bothers me to turn my volume to a number that isn't a multiple of 5, which in many cases means I either have to listen to something at a volume that's too quiet or loud, or just put up with the number being at a number that nags at my admittedly ridiculous mental tick. At any rate, it would be easily mitigated if I can just remove the number and only have a fill bar. Is there a way to do this?

This is my Win11 Desktop with a default install of Win11, no numbers on the Volume control in the Notification area unless I click its slider bar. Maybe your computer included a sound app related to the sound adapter, built-in/onboard or Add-in PCIe card?

Copilot could probably handle it..., (or should, the way MS brags about it!!!)

In my system that popup is only shown when I use the volume buttons on my keyboard (which not all keyboards have).
And in my system the number in that bar is increased/decreased by a factor 2 each time the volume buttons are pressed.
I don't know if the amount of increase/decrease is the same in every system.
That is independent of the volume control in the notification area, that has the appearance like @Berton has shown in #2..

If you would want to disable the number there: as far as I know that is not possible and the question is: what would it be good for, in what aspect is it bothering you? I really don't see any problems there, I am satisfied by that popup as it is.

My keyboard does, and that pop-up shows if I use the buttons. I didn't know that until today, because I've never felt the need to use the keyboard audio/playback buttons. This kepboard will probably have been replaced before I use those buttons again.
Useless. Superfluous. Redundant. Gimmicky.

It shows up whether I use the keyboard or mouse keys to change the volume. As stated previously, it shows numbers rather than just a bar. Obviously not that big a deal, just something I'd like to change, if possible.

That's your opinion.
I use that buttons every time again (including the mute button).
They are much faster to use than the volume bar in the system tray and as I wear hearing aids, that do not sound nice when music is loud, I have to adjust the volume many times in an hour. I almost always am listening to (classic) music while at the PC. Or mute the sound when I watch a video that is informing me about anything technical, where its sound often is useless and very loud. I then want to mute the sound as quick as possible and know exactly where that mute button is situated on my keyboard.

I hardly can imagine that would be something that you can change. But maybe someone else here knows a trick now that is known what exactly is bothering you.

You're absolutely right. Just my opinion. I wear HAs, too, but I spend so little time with anything on my computer screens that involves speech, music, ot other sounds, that I have no problem using the notification bar Mute and volume control.

If your audio device has it's own volume control, change the volume there so that making changes in the OS in increments of 5% will not make as large of a change.

Let me give an example...

I have a set of speakers that have their own volume control. If I set the volume very high, then each 1% of change in the Windows volume control represents a fairly large change in volume.

Now, if I set the volume on the physical speakers to a much lower level, then each 1% change on the Windows volume control makes a much smaller change.
