Solved Remove Open with Adobe Acrobat reader from context menu

Hi. Whenever I right click a pdf document I get this Open with Adobe Acrobat, it is only with pdf files and not part of the open with menu, anyone know how to remove it? Thanks ...... Rod

Do you have the Free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed or the Paid-for Adobe Acrobat installed? Or is a different Reader installed? Both Firefox and Edge browser can read .pdf files. If a different program is desired look in Settings, Apps and change the File Association for the file type.

Thanks I have the free version, I know about the other stuff, but I don't want to use a browser

The only way I've seen that worked to remove the setting for the default opening of a file type was to uninstall that program and not reinstall it. This is what I get on my latest Notebook for choices for .pdf on Open with [I haven't installed or set a PDF program yet]:

Delete the Open key, (Export a backup, just in case!)
