I went to Microsoft's Store. I told it not to download DEV HOME but it did anyway and installed it. I tried following this link from this forum, remove Dev Home and got the error message that can be seen in the attachment.

What could I have done wrong and how can I get rid of Dev Home?

I thought I may not have copied the entire code so I did it again and got the same error message.

Again, how can I uninstall the Dev Home since what I have done hasn't worked?

Run PowerShell elevated (run as Administrator) and it should work.

Run PowerShell elevated (run as Administrator) and it should work.
I did that. I found PowerShell in my Start menu, Clicked the Down Arrow, Right Clicked on Windows PowerShell, and chose the option the Red arrow points to as seen in the attachment. Should I have chosen the next option down? Why is what I did not made PowerShell run Elevated.

I have the attachments out of order but the above paragraph refers to the lower attachment. In the upper attachment, I believe I have the PowerShell opened again as Administrator onlt I opened it using the Windows Terminal using the "Windows key" and the "X" As can be seen, I pasted the command twice and the results show nothing as far as I know.

I am sorry but I think that Dev Home may have been removed because I no longer see it in the Start Menu. Does that make sense? Unless that is the way PowerShell operates without telling me the App was removed. The attachment show where it was. I hope that means it was removed/uninstalled.

Ok, I see the issue now. The problem is that you are using Terminal as default app.

  2. Type Terminal
  3. Press the down arrow to reveal "Run As Administrator"

  5. Now choose a Powershell window, does not matter if it is ISE or non ISE.

Run
Code:

to verify

This is normal. What matters is if "Dev Home" still shows in the Start menu or not.

I did not see this so I tried everything and got the same results you can see in the above attachments but I will attach another screenshot here. I believeterm.jpg it shows, again, that it is being run as the Administrator but it isn't showing anything as far as results are concerned as your screenshot shows. I have no idea why this could be unless, as I mentioned above, the App has already been somehow removed with the PowerShell telling me it took place.

This is normal. What matters is if "Dev Home" still shows in the Start menu or not.
OK thanks. Once again, I did not see this post before posting a couple more posts above. I am going to reboot and make sure it really is gone from the Start menu. Thanks to everyone.

Now a follow up question. In addition to Dev Home, when I went to the Microsoft store, there was an app called Armory Crate. Apparently it is used by Asus for gamers, which I am not one, never play any games on my computers. I chose the 3 dots beside each of those apps and picked to not download them. It did that anyhow. So how in the future when I update apps at the Microsoft Store, can I stop those from downloading and installing on my machines. I have 2 more machines I need to visit the Microsoft Store to update apps so I want to avoid what just happened here.

I tried to copy your command to test it on my machine. I couldn't copy it and am not sure of spacing. If you typed it again here, I could test it to see if I get all that information yours shows.

Here is the command again:
Code:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -PackageTypeFilter Bundle -Name "*Windows.DevHome*"

What comes to Armory Crate, it is not only for gamers. It is for everything Asus that can be configured or given information about on your machine. This includes BIOS, drivers, manuals, RGB, etc... Sure, it has probably a lot of features you will never need, but it is a handy tool to have.

Thank you. I copied your command but took the -Name "*Wondows.DevHome" off of it to test and see if I could get all that information your example above showed and I did. So whenever the command that I kept usiug, (Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -PackageTypeFilter Bundle -Name "*Windows.DevHome*" | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers) actually removed the app, I apparently did not get anything confirming that it had been removed. Thank you.
