Replacing the Start Menu button.

Are you sure?
Pretty sure. The one from Windows 7 is also still there BTW. %Windir%\System32\slui.exe, 2

If deciding to go with Open-Shell and a custom .png like I have suggested, be sure to tick the final checkbox on the Start Button tab in the Open-Shell settings to "Align to corner of the screen". Else, an old bug that Ivo Beltchev never managed to fix will cause the button to jump unexpectedly sometimes. Directly above this checkbox, for my button that I posted, I have set the button size to 65 and am using ExplorerPatcher to bring back the Windows 10 taskbar with the taskbar icons size set to small and the taskbar height reduced to just a single row. (The minimum taskbar height of the Windows 11 taskbar with small icons is still ridiculously huge if you, like me, use a big flatscreen TV as the primary display device─like looking at icons through the James Webb telescope almost. 🌌)

Thanks, but I don't use it (Open-Shell). Your PNGs are for animation sequences?

Yeah, it's just a subtle highlighting that appears when you hover your mouse over the button or when the start menu is open.

I think you have uploaded the wrong image. The original one was this and they modified it:

When the Windows 10 taskbar is set to enabled in ExplorerPatcher, replacing the Start button with Open-Shell works. It's on my (very) long list of reasons why I think the Windows 11 taskbar should probably die a silent death.
