Revo Uninstaller Pro failed to remove Edge fully.

Revo never finished removing files and eventually I cancelled.
I downloaded and reinstalled Edge. I used Task Manager to kill any Edge processes and then used Revos forced uninstall and this worked.

What annoyed me was that Edge silently installed today and opened a window I couldn't close.

Microsoft has made it very difficult to uninstall Edge browser, but using an open-source tool you can still manage to uninstall Edge browser from your system.

It's far more convenient - to simply block it with Edge Blocker v2.0 and let it be, than - keep removing it after every update. All it takes - is for Microsoft to turn it into a dependency with one update - thus removing it will brake Windows.

Didn't they have to spend a few quid in court not long ago for similar practises?

Weren't they supposed to have been ordered to give EU members at least the option to remove Edge?

Make sure you also delete or disable the edge update tasks in task scheduler and in services.

Outside of reading articles that appear on the Widgets I seldom use Edge, mostly just ignore it. A thing about Windows since we only get a license to use it, Microsoft can pretty much do what it wants, have seen useful tweaks removed during Upgrades/Updates to set Windows back to defaults, just keep a list of what I do and any software needed. Been that way since my first computer in '92 and getting into building/repairing computers after retiring 2 years later.
