Right Click menu weirdness

so when I use the right click menu in file explorer I noticed something odd:


notice the really weird formating on open new tab? am I losing it or does that not look right. has anyone seen this before?

That is a bit odd. I dont know off hand how Windows populates menus like that, what files or dlls of whatever else it reads from for the options and config.
There is a pretty simple scan that you can do to check for system file corruption:

Run this in an admin terminal:
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

If that comes up with errors, then run:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

After both of those run, run:
sfc /scannow

This may or may not fix your issue, but it cant hurt to run it. I run these commands once a week just as a matter of course for maintaining my system, along with weekly backups.

so bit of background I am withholding update since the weird SSD issue that was reported in September following a update whose KB number i cannot recall, as sadly being unable to afford a new pc or even components at this time due to financial strain I decided to be out of date then risk data corruption, so when I ran it, it found a damaged component store, but was unable to repair it. so I think in the mean time till I get back on my feet (which being honest might be a few years) I will just live with this strangeness thanks for the assist though.
