Rufus 4.16 Beta released

 Github:

  • Finally work around that stupid AMI NTFS driver bug, so that runtime UEFI media validation can work on the millions of PCs that AMI screwed up
  • Finally report USB 3.2+ devices (USB 3.2 = 20 Gbps, USB 4.0 = 40 Gpbs, USB 4.1 = 80 Gbps — See, USB Forum, it's really NOT that hard!)
  • Fix the CA 2023 updated files not being taken into account during runtime UEFI media validation
  • Fix the "Silent" installation option being potentially applied even when all dependencies aren't met (#3008)
  • Fix a regression where "Write as ESP" used the whole drive, instead of the expected 1 GB partition
  • Fix WUE timezone duplication for non English locales (#3070, #2499) and reinstate the use of dots in local usernames (#3057)
  • Add classic right click context menu restoration to the QoL improvements option (courtesy of @Fredolx , #3007)
  • Drop the ever problematic use of Group Policies when disabling the "Do you want to format this drive?" prompt (#3042)
  • Improve raw image partition (re)mount (courtesy of Jared Hagel, #3002)
  • Update embedded GRUB to version 2.16
  • Update libcdio to latest
  • Update the official DBX URLs, since they were changed by Microsoft
  • Address multiple vulnerabilities, courtesy of @indep-arg, @andife, Adam Korczynski and @SilentSobs:

Rufus 4.15 starts the burn of the ISO and then the USB it is burning to gets locked
and it then becomes totally locked and unusable until i close Rufus 4.15 and reformat the USB pen drive

this is happening on 4 different systems 2 desktops and 2 laptops that are running Win 11 26H2
but on the same systems using MCT and the same Windows ISO to burn the ISO to the same USB pen drive, it works.

but in this Ubuntu system i installed Win10 22H2 in Gnome boxes and Rufus 4.15 works fine with USB pass through enabled
so i will install Win11 26H2 in Gnome boxes and test Rufus 4.16 beta out.

best of luck Steve ..
