I know that my 45" 5120x1440 monitor has been a huge upgrade from the two 28" 1080p monitors I used to run. I really like the wide screen, don't know why I didn't do it years ago! :-)

Some time ago I had a curved monitor on trial base.
I did not like it at all. For some reason my eyes wanted square figures to be square, for me they looked distorted.
Maybe 50 years of use of flat monitors gives me a unpleasant feeling when having a curved one.

So I decided not to use those curved ones, I'll keep it flat until the end... :LOL:

I've read reviews in the past that users reported many app UI's to be distorted with some curved monitors, and Photoshop was one of them!

I haven't seen any issues with my curved monitor, and a bonus is it keeps the screen at near constant distance from my eyes from end to end to maximize clarity and focus. My two separate monitors didn't do that nearly as well. I think the reason people might perceive distortion is they're not sitting directly in front of the monitor at the middle. I also think that some of the distortion that people think they see is the fact that they've already trained their brain to interpret the distorted image from the flat screens to the side of their seating position.

Indeed, that it shall be. But as I wrote that I am used to flat monitors for 50 years *).
I don't want to force myself (for the few years that I still have) to get used to the curved ones.
Just had not expected the curved monitor to be inconvenient (for me), but I could send it back.

*) Already in 1976 I had to do with computers and their monitors, of course those were not yet PCs.

To me, the positives outweighed the negatives when switching to the ultra-wide curved screen. I love it, and I'd have trouble going back to regular screens now. :hug:

Shouldn’t worry about widescreen support these days. Might run in to some issues with really old apps/games but some black bars never killed anyone here and there

The only issue I have with my screen is it's hard to find some decent wallpaper pictures that are in the proper aspect ratio. 32:9 is not nearly as common as lower resolutions.
