Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Samsung is expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more devices, bringing the latest Galaxy AI features across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. The update focuses on enhancing communication and creative experiences on Galaxy mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

One UI 8.5 will begin rolling out in Korea starting May 6 with additional regions to follow.

Not sure if this was previously possible or not, or, I just never found the option..., however...,
Finally got rid of the annoying Media Pill...

... simply turn off Media Player in Lock Screen Live Notification Settings...
(Setting will stick even if you set Lock Screen to None)

Much better...and thank goodness for the excellent Search button in Settings to find all the customizations.

Apparently the earpiece doesn't house a premium audio driver!

That is so last decade or more!

This is not a personal issue to me though as I can only hear on one side being totally deaf on the left. I am physically incapable of hearing in stereo. bThod is dur to a (now nuked) btain tumour destroying my hearing nerves on left side.

So, I can only hear in mono and sometimes listening to audio (on devices with stereo) I seemed to get perodic audio dropout.

What was happening was I was only listening to the right hand channel. The classic sound is when you hear a car driving left to right or vice versa.

I found a setting that plays audio in mono (mainly designed so two people can listen with one set of earphones).

After I made that setting, no more dropout. I cannot get the effect of a car moving though.
