Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Samsung is expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more devices, bringing the latest Galaxy AI features across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. The update focuses on enhancing communication and creative experiences on Galaxy mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

One UI 8.5 will begin rolling out in Korea starting May 6 with additional regions to follow.

Oh, that nasty Appcloud, that kind of software should be illegal. Especially when they make it hard to find and remove as well. Isn't that malware? So far I haven't had it return on my phone but I haven't had any updates except security updates thus far. Will be waiting for One UI 9.0 possibly next month though.

The terminology is not really that precise as all the menus are at the first pre-OS screen. I have seen either term used but yeah I guess Recovery Mode is slightly better.

Same for my S26, only disabled and hidden. For those not familiar:

AppCloud is a pre-installed system-level app built by ironSource (owned by Unity) that manages third-party app recommendations, suggestions, and automated installations on Samsung Galaxy devices. It is allowed and included by manufacturers as part of commercial distribution partnerships and ad-tech revenue models designed to subsidize device costs or promote software partners.

It tracks device activity, network data, and user interests in the background to push recommended apps or games.
It operates with deep privileges in the OS, meaning standard users cannot permanently uninstall it through normal device settings. Privacy groups and security researchers have criticized AppCloud for data collection practices and its tendency to reinstall or push notifications after system updates.

Same... my A54 is relatively bloat-free.
I deleted or disabled a lot of apps of course, but I didn't see that AppCloud anywhere on the A54.

But I got the A54 about 5 years ago, when Samsung was a kinder, gentler company. LOL

Every time I try to to switch the already selected picture/background though it freezes the message app and I have to reboot the phone.
