SD card suddenly write protected

Not sure how this has happened. I use card for images from my camera. All of a sudden I can't delete the images. How do I undo the mystery Write Protected function. Thanks.

My usb stick works fine - can delete files. I tried another usb reader and it also fails to delete. Tried your link - went through all the steps - no deal. Guess I'm looking for a new sd card, eh? Thanks very much.

I fought with that once, till I realized that I had moved the Write Protect Switch on the side of the card to its "Protected" setting.
If your card has such a switch, (see picture) then move it towards the Gold edge connectors on the end of the card.

In this picture, if the little switch is moved DOWN, then the card is Write Protected. Moving the switch UP, removes the Write Protection.
* Those little cards are very subject to static electricity, and can be destroyed by handling. (Never touch the Gold edge connectors)

Hey- thanks friend - I saw that switch info in my searches for a fix. unfortunately, my Transend card has no such switch. But I have another card so will fall back on that. :-}

Usually if a card becomes write protected & the switch isn’t enabled then it is an indicator the card has failed.
