Search bar in Menu

When I click on it, it disappears and the start menu appears with search in the top. As I have used search for eons in taskbar anyone know why its changed. I checked setting and taskbar has got search box in situ? I know its purely a cosmetic thing but I like my search box in taskbar.

yes aga; but search is a 3 x choice - Box, icon or hide, mine is 26

I didn't read this first time.

I just installed the 26H1 to test it out, and effectively, the search box disappears and is replaced by a single icon if there are too many icons on the taskbar. The search box reappears when the icons are removed.

I suppose it's the same on 25H2, but I haven't tested it.
