Second monitor become black

Hi

I have two monitors on Windows 11 and they work normal for years until yesterday my second monitor agon ag273qcx stopped receiving signal and sometimes it does not display no signal but stay black these are the steps I did trying to solve the problem:

• I run AMD clean utility and rolled back AMD driver to 2 months older than the current
• Turn off the agon monitor then turn on again . Sometimes it work and display image but most of the time just stay black
• Tried another DP/HDMI cable and it worked couple of times then returned black again
• Tried to swap monitors cables on GPU DP ports it worked couple of times then stay at black
• I reinstalled monitor driver
• I found on google someone say turn off sync from AMD Adrenalin , I tried but did not solve the problem

GPU is 6800 XT. Any other suggestions ?

Swap cables on the video card side - see if it changes the monitor having issues.

If it does, it's the port on the video card.

if it does not, it may be the monitor.

Also, be sure all of the settings match the specifications of the monitor (something like a Windows update might have changed what you had set correctly before).

Which settings you mean ? In Adrenalin ?

Update:

I tried now HDMI cable for my monitor and I am able to login to windows couple of times now but in windows the refresh rates listed are 60 and 75 only while this monitor support 120 and 144.

When I tried to run Adrenaline 23.9.3 I go this error



So I followed the link and I found this page

They want me to run a software called AMD Software Compatibility Tool. So I did it start then download driver then install it and finished later I was able to run Adrenaline but what this tool acutalled installed in my PC ??

The refresh rates listed in Windows advanced display is the only way to see the compatible refresh rates ?

You also need to verify if you monitor supports those higher refresh rates across all connections or not, and verify what connections are available on the video card.

Not just DP and HDMI, but DP 1.x and HDMI 2.x - those numbers will be important. And the same information about your GPU will also be important.

If you're using a limited connection, like, say, an HDMI 1.x or 2.0 cable, on an HDMI 2.1 connection, you're limiting the data that can be transmitted from GPU to monitor, and upper refresh rates and / or high resolutions are usually the ones that suffer in this scenario. Ergo, as I noted before - you need to know the specifics about your hardware. GPU and monitor. And that includes the cables needed to make the connection(s).
