I detest typing on the iPhone "keyboard". Looking for a good way to send/receive messages from my PC keyboard. Previously linked a small Bluetooth keyboard to the iPhone but that wasn't much better. I'm using a MS Bluetooth keyboard on the PC.
;-) Seems like everyone on this forum uses Android and "My Phone". Am I the only iPhone survivor?
Thanks for any advice.

I write perhaps a 6 or 8 messages per day. I'd rather not pay for a program (its not for business). I do have Verizon as my carrier, but recipients panic at all the digits in the address ("obviously spam"). I guess I'm stuck with the iPhone. Is there some way I can direct my keyboard output to the iPhone? Some other approach suitable for small-time users?

Here's a help page on different keyboard layouts:
That might be of help. I write few texts per day and use the voice-to-text option. Fortunately, I have a neutral accent, so all the words usually are correct.

Couldn't resist, spent 2 years in Rhode Island in the Navy, people thought we were from the South. Yea right, South Central Kansas. But then drinking ice tea in New England in the Winter may have had an effect.

I've never used voice-to-text. Is that the feature under "Voice Control" in Settings? Sounds like a good option. Are there specialized voice commands for naming recipients, sending, and so forth. Perhaps there is a dictation guide you could point me to. Thanks for the idea.

All I do is open the text message I want to send and, instead of typing, hit the microphone on the virtual keyboard. It's to the left of your spacebar. You can train your phone to understand you if you find that it's not correctly typing the words you say. It's a setting to train Siri.

Unfortunately, I know of no dictation guides out there. I'm sure you can locate one with a Web search, though.
