Windows 11
Tried to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 with the /product server command but received this error message:

setupprep.exe is not compatible with the Windows-version that is executed

Should be a system language issue? The current language is German and the ISO language is English.

Anyone know how to fix this?

If you’re trying to upgrade as in Option Two in this tutorial:

The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be the same edition, same version, and same or higher build as the currently installed Windows 11.

The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be for the same language as your currently installed Windows 11.

If this is a clean install, create the installation media using Rufus, is my opinion.

Setup enforces a rule that the upgrade image must have the same default system language as the install. You can either find a different Windows language edition to use as the upgrade source, or change the installed Window's default language to match.

1. Best answer: find a matching language ISO. If you have to perform a clean install, might as well have the right version for emergencies.

2. Add the English Language Pack to your current Windows (if not already installed). The English version (en-US or en-GB) must match whatever English version from the upgrade image.

Change the system default language:
Code:
DISM /Set-UILang:en-US
shutdown /r /t 10
setup /product server
