I also like the Image combiner.
The new Photos app doesn't allow to turn the aspect ratio off when resizing :woozy: so have to use Paint or Paint 3D. Nice one Ms....

I’m still yet to try this. But the truth is, I have Photoshop open pretty much all the time, so I just print screen and edit.
Lately though, I’ve had print screen as the snippetswhatevers capture key to try help a member with their issues. (if you remember) So using ShareX whilst photoshop is open would seem pointless. Again, I haven’t tried it.
But I’m always interested in @Edwin approved apps. Whatever makes the flow, flow is a good thing, I hate detours.

Or in my case, 6 full windows. So there is most likely a lot of merritt with ShareX for capture if you don’t want to edit much. But it’s just natural to me in PS. However a longer process.

I would say, 90% of screen captures I take, are either to share here, or are random snippets of various sources, the internet, etc.
I want a capture program that just plops the solitary capture on the Desktop, nothing more..., ShareX and Greenshot are 2 of the few that will do that, other programs need you to paste it into another program, or they need to use a working folder somewhere!

Let me explain how ShareX works..., or rather, how I've set it up to work:
PrtScrn is the boss hotkey, press it and freezes all your screens and everything on them, including mouse hover tips, menus, pop-ups, etc..., the region capture crosshairs are there as well as the annotating toolbar so, you can annotate on the fly before you actually grab the capture!

I do my thing, grab the capture then drag it from my desktop to here:
(All that annotating I did on the fly before I even grabbed the region capture..., with the exception the png in mid-drag!) ;-)

Can you “send to photoshop” or other external, using ShareX? (or copy image in ShareX and paste?)

You know what I would love?
If a capture software could capture the screen but with layers defining the separate instances of items present.
For example, the mouse pointer would be a separate layer as would a pop up be.
I assume the capture software would need to be able to recognise running processes to do this.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but, you can turn off Show Mouse Pointer with Capture, so, it must be a separate layer...

Ah! Mmmm..., I don't think so. You can add a duplicate, or mirror of your mouse pointer, as I did in the above capture, and move them around...
(Btw, I invoked that capture/mouse movement and recorded the Gif all in one ShareX instance!) ;-)
