OS
Windows 10
I have a strange problem. System can't find the folder:
shell:appsfolder\{1AC14E77-02E7-4E5D-B744-2EB1AE5198B7}

But the folder this is a shortcut to still works:
shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}

I have tried to compare registry with a system where it works.
But I can't find any differences. What is missing that causes this?

Would very much like not to to a reinstall or fuill repair again
(seems like after installing 11 Iæm doing reinstalls every day)

So: How do I restore "shell:appsfolder\{1AC14E77-02E7-4E5D-B744-2EB1AE5198B7}"
to point to "shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}" as it should?

Hello, :alien:

You should be able to open the Applications folder just using:

shell:appsfolder

But that's not working. If I try to open "shell:appsfolder" it says it can't be found.
But opening "shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}" works.
So there is a "shortcut" or "redirect" that is not working on this one PC.
So how to restore the "shell:appsfolder" so that it point to the right folder
("shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}")?

How are you trying to run it?

As a test, how does using this below work:

explorer shell:appsfolder

Results in a "can't find folder" message (don't know exaclly the english message as I ise norwegian Windows).
If I eneter "shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}" in Explorer the content is displayed.
So it is just the "shell:appsFolder" shortcut that does not work. A missing pointer, redirect or something.

Not sure why it's not working for you. :unsure:

Are you able to use the one below instead that's working for you?

I narrowed it down to somthing about the FolderDescriptions. So I exported the key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions]
from a working computer, and imported on the one with trouble and that fixed it.
