[Secure Boot] With this update, Windows quality updates include additional high confidence device targeting data, increasing coverage of devices eligible to automatically receive new Secure Boot certificates. Devices receive the new certificates only after demonstrating sufficient successful update signals, maintaining a controlled and phased rollout.

Monthly Updates can be installed, regardless of your Secure Boot status. Every new KB may add more tools to help update your Secure Boot certs, if your PC isn't already supported by a recent BIOS update.

If your BIOS cannot be updated by supported means, Windows will still work.

I believe your HP laptop model received a December 2025 BIOS update, which probably added Secure Boot certs. You should check if it's installed.

Depending on your current BIOS version, the Secure Boot update process may succeed or fail. I can't tell you what will happen, you need to install the June 2026 CU and see if you get any TPM-WMI error messages suggesting it can't install the new certs.

The point of the Windows Updates going back to last April is to help every PC install the updated certs if possible.

The same program... CPU-Z will show you the motherboard model.
We need to know that to identify the proper BIOS version for your device...

Or you could look it up on HP's website and post it here.

Microsoft is changing Secure Boot.
BIOS companies are also changing the BIOS code to work towards the same end.

We've seen all kinds of problems with out-of-date certs, out-of-date BIOSes, etc.
The June 2026 update makes some changes that have to be considered.

For example...

We try to cover all bases before recommending steps to follow.
