“Sign in with your Microsoft account to continue app experiences” - what?

hi all

what's that message about? i get Notifications saying there's been a sign-in error, but as far as i can tell everything's working. i used Word, and it has my icon and name etc in the profile box saying i am signed in. what exactly is an "app experience"?
seems i can ignore this as nothing untoward has happened the last few days, but i login linked to my MS account so i'm not sure why it's saying i haven't signed in.

More than likely your account needs to be verified. Go to settings>accounts> right under you name is there anthing related to account verification marked in blue.

thanks for the reply. can't see anything blue, there's a beige box asking for a contact phone number, and an offer for Office 365.

It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot so we can see the exact notification you are getting. I can't tell if it's related to the store or not going by what you've said.
Also, are you using a MS or local user account?
Try this. Open the store. Right click on your avatar. If you're not signed in, sign in. If you're signed in, sign out . Restart, then sign back in to the store.

Not that it fixes the reason for the notification, but you can turn off notifications for your account.

thanks for the posts. the message hasn't turned up again these last few days so i've no idea what spawned it, i didn't do anything i don't usually do.
i've turned off that "share across devices" thing anyways.
