Windows 11 - Release Preview channel
Lately I've been experiencing web pages loading very slowly over my Ethernet connection. I'm using DOH in Windows and I've tried both Cloudflare and Quad9 DNS and it's the same which makes wonder if the problem lies elsewhere. However I'm not sure what next to investigate.

Yep, using DOH in Windows. I have not touched my browser DNS settings.

I don't have much input on this subject. However, I'm curious to know what leads you to believe you have slow DNS resolution—some form of test or real-life browsing slowness etc?

real-life websites loading very slowly... Should I have said slow internet instead?

No, I'm sure the same people would be viewing for slow internet and DNS problems, it just helps that they know not to restrict their help just to DNS as it could well be something else.

Which Web Browser do you use? Might help to try some of the others - just to make sure it's not web browser related. Like Firefox or/and Opera.

Try this extension to measure it up, it could help to exclude DNS as the cause.
Additionally try a portable browser to see if the problem occurs there as well.

It seems like the issue is related to using DNS over HTTPS in Windows. If I set it back to automatic (DCHP) websites loader faster more consistently. The website loading with DOH is not always slow however, sometimes it's fast but then other times the same websites take up to six seconds or longer to load.

It is Chromium based browsers issue, Edge and Brave lag for 5 secs every 5 min (DNS Cache?), when DNS is blocked.

"Transferring" shown for a while, means the download is abnormally slow, normally! Or an abnormally slow upload. It can mean internet hardware failure.

can you go to fast.com and test your download speed, upload speed and latency.

I turned off OneDrive because its constant uploads interfered with downloads and slowed my system. But I only have 13Mbps and 1 Mbps.
