Small Notepad Fix?

Greetings. As someone who uses the MS notepad app quite frequently, this has been irritating me for quite awhile now. When using the out of the box version of Win11 this never seemed to be an issue, but I believe something changed when MS rolled out the updated version of notepad some time ago. The Status Bar no longer has enough room to display all information from the Line and Column section in the lower left corner. Does anyone know of a registry hack or some other fix that I might use to expand the width of this area?

Nice catch. I see the same thing.
This should be reported on the hub.

@Berton & @S0C9, your files are too small in content to reflect the issue.
See my screenshot below. The column should read 16 but the second digit is cut off.

It might be the OP's Win11 version?
I have 23H3 22631.3810 installed - they are on 23H2 22631.3737 - and don't have the issue, even with a reduced window size..

Don't see any difference in mine. The space between number of characters and the percentage depends upon how wide the program's window is. I've never noticed any other text in Notepad's Status Bar like on some word processors.

Does turning off Status bar then back on make a change? Does turning on or off Word wrap make a change? [Columns = number of characters in a line?]

Okay. I just tested and on a 15" Notebook with 1368x768 Resolution, Scale of 125% and Notepad Maximized with default Font I can get 103 columns.

Finally was able to duplicate what you see, went to an 89-character/column line of text then to 2600 lines of text, it doesn't show the full numbers columns in that first line, just the total when at the bottom of the document.
