How is that possible? As far as I know Optional Diagnostic Data should be ON, otherwise Smart App Control cannot be turned ON.

I restarted my PC and Smart App Control is still ON.

I hear them whimpering late at night, but I don't care. :D

So Diagnostic Data was turned on?
You were able to turn ON Smart App Control while Diagnostic Data was ON?
You’ve restarted the PC
Diagnostic Data is now OFF, App Control is now ON?
Now you can’t turn Smart App Control OFF?

If I am on the right track.

Diagnostic data might be ON when you activate Smart App Control but on reboot Diagnostic Data is possibly automatically turned OFF, which would make sense.

Why you can’t now turn OFF Smart App Control I don’t know.

Reboot, try again?

Hi antspants.

Optional Diagnostic Data was OFF when I enabled Smart App Control.
I restarted my pc just to confirm that Smart App Control is still ON and yes, Smart App Control is ON after restart.
I can disable Smart App Control (button is not greyed out).
Evaluation Mode button is greyed out, but that is normal.

The questions is WHY Windows let me to TURN ON Smart App Control, while Optional Diagnostic Data was and still is OFF?
Can't explain better. Maybe my english is worse than I thought :D

It's supposed to work that way though.
I hope this doesn't frustrate you, but as posted above, Diagnostic Data Must be off to enable Smart App Control

I've had Smart App Control off on my system for ages. Not worth the effort of having it on. MS recommend only using it if the user is from USA or Europe. :party:

Apparently, (now I am confused with you) If Optional Diagnostic Data is turned off, windows is supposed to automatically shut down Smart App Control

So who knows? A most frustrating rabbit hole.
