I did the same with Sound Recorder...

I don't remember where I found this, but I found a post where you can bring the Windows 10 snip tool into Windows 11. This is what I did, and mine looks like the original Windows 10 one, and is still working great.

Yep, that is what I need.

Thank, but I am not looking for Snippingtool, I think that has no current version anymore

Edwin,

The mui file needs to be in a subfolder of the one with the .exe in it.
The subfolder is named after your language, en-US [I guess].

@GeneralLee01, Edwin,

Use the EdTittel procedure to rescue old components for re-use in later Versions.
Rescue Old Windows 10 Applications from Oblivion - Windows Enterprise Desktop
They can be rescued from old system images as well as from installed OSs.

I use a Windows 10 Snipping tool in my Windows 11 with no problems at all.
Mine is en-GB and I don't know if you'll be able to use it as it stands instead of rescuing one of your own. Do let me know.
Mine can only be used by those with en-GB as their Windows language.
- Extract the zip file anywhere you want and make a shortcut to its .exe in the normal manner.

Denis

Thanks Try, will test it out later today.

I just want to mention:
Before you attempt going through all the bull-:poop: of trying to re-enable ancient Windows software, that's still lame to this day, have a look at some way more sophisticated Capture programs, such as ShareX or Greenshot!

Thanks Try, will test it out later today.
You mean that you are going to copy the .exe file & in its .mui in the en-US sub-folder from an old system image using Ed Tittel's guidance?
- You cannot use mine because mine is en-GB. Mine will not work in an en-US OS. And yours would not work in my computer.
