Hi,
When I press Window Key+Shift+S, the Snipping Tool opens. After selecting the area I want copied on my screen, the Snipping Tool program doesn't open with the copied area in it. I'm in Windows Beta running 22622.598.

Any ideas?

That is normal behaviour in 22000, let alone any Insider builds. You need notifications turned on for the Snipping tool. After every snip there should be a notification, and if you click on it the Snipping Tool opens with your snip in it. If you miss seeing the notification, just click on the date/time in the Taskbar to open the Action Centre, the notification should be there too.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

It just saves to clipboard for me but if I open from start list it opens the copied area.

I just tried it, and since I have Screenpresso installed, it opened instead of the Snipping Tool! Wowser!

I'm running 22000.978 and went the long way to get the Snipping Tool . . . Here's what I got . . .

I also put the Snipping Tool on my taskbar for convenience since I create short tutorials for my students.

open Start,
look for a program to annotate it with,
open that program,
paste from the clipboard,
annotate,
click Save,
name it something in the Save As dialog,
click Save......................................................................................

Guud Lurd! Get a real capture program already!!!

Only if I want to save it for later. Usually I just mark it up a bit (draw red arrows to point things out, or highlight something) the copy and past it into a post.

This behavior just started. Before, Snipping Tool would open. It might have been due to the newest update. Oh, well. Guess I'll have to deal with it.
