Win11 Calendar (part of Mail & Calendar app) not opening after Update

Having same issue. Calendar in windows 11 not working after microsoft update. I did repair and that did not work. Not sure yet what happens if you reset...do you lose all your emails???? How could microsoft now know this would happen???

yeah, neither "settings>apps>Mail and Calendar>repair>reboot" nor "settings>apps>Mail and Calendar>reset>reboot" didn't fix it here either...

but, the Store>search>Microsoft Mail and Calendar>Update *did* fix the issue.

Now that its fixed, it adds a link to try out the pre-release "Outlook" client. It drops the Win8 metro style, and uses the Outlook365 web style. Eh... I've gotten to like the simple metro style. but there are things I'll use like delayed send. so, I probably stay in the "new outlook"

Repair and reboot did not fix the problem. I am reluctant to "reset" as I do not want to lose all the data I've put into Calendar.

Downloading the Mail & Calendar update from Windows Store makes the Calendar window think about it for a few seconds longer before shutting down.

Gotta love this "black box" Windows paradigm where apps just fail without any of those scary error messages. So you're left without any clue what to do.

I found a work around, using my browser I went to Outlook.com and logged in. I clicked on the calendar icon on the left side of the page and everything was visible. The windows store would not let me install the update that others have had success with.

I fixed the problem by going to the Windows Store and searched for Windows mail & calendar. It showed that there was an update available. I installed the update and that resolved my issue.
In my case it is a very recent Mail & Calendar app update that, I believe, started the problem of Calendar opening.
I cannot seem to find in Microsoft Store a way to uninstall or roll back an app update. Anyone know how to ?? (PS I do know how to uninstall a Windows Update)

Surely you may be a bit confused? For me, my Outlook Calendar is separate to my Windows Calendar - one I use for 'work' and the other for 'personal' events.

I never used the Outlook calendar for anything. Opening the outlook calendar shows the items I input on the Windows calendar.

Sorry - ignore my comment above - my two calendars are attached to two different email addresses. I have now done the same as you - gone to Outlook.com / signed in to my 'personal' email/ clicked on Calendar and, like you, it opened with all the data still there - in spite of 'repairing' and 'resetting' the app + uninstalling & redownloading /installing the app.

I didn't even need to search the store - I opened the store and the update was queued up ready to install.

This update was not queued up yesterday, so they must have started pushing it out to general availability now.

HOW TO FIX - open Microsoft Store / on left Click Library - a list will show of the apps on your computer/ top right Click on Get Updates - wait a bit and hopefully from today Mail and Calendar will show an update of 38.47Mb - let this download and install.
After this you should be able to open Calendar OK - in my case Calendar opened with NO data showing - in Mail/ Click on Accounts/ Click on your email address account showing/ Click on "Delete this account from this device". Close Mail and then re-open it/ Click on Accounts/ Add Account and a list of suggested email addresses will show/ Click on the same email address as the one on the account you just deleted. After doing this - for me Calendar then opened showing all my saved calendar future events.
PS Unless you are lucky, this update appears to be the only 'certain' fix - as the problem was caused by a faulty Calendar app update that, for me came on 1st March.

Today, March 1st 2023, the Calendar app (part of Mail & Calendar app) will not open - just a blank white screen.
Following internet advice, I tried 'Repair' the app - no good.
I then noticed the app has been updated today - coincidence ??

Mail app opening OK, but whether I try to open Calendar from within Mail or from Taskbar icon - same result - blank white screen.

Anyone else got this problem ?
Same issue here! 🙄

I installed the new update available today in the Microsoft Store, and this fixed the problem for me. (The one available yesterday didn't do the trick.)
